Guess what I got to do today? God gave me the privilege of helping to rescue a red-headed speckled woodpecker. We are not sure what happened. Maybe he tried to fly into our glass doors. Esmonde tried to pick him up and even covered his head but he was scared and wound up grasped to Marilyn's pants' leg. I covered his head and gently picked him up and calmed him and set him down in a grassy area. A while passed and he had not moved so Elisha wanted to take him to the vet that holds wildlife until it can be picked up by the authorities. She came to me and asked me if I would pick him up and put him in a box. So, I got to pick him up a 2nd time and this time he panicked a little. You know what God let me do? I had the bird covered with my hands and then I drew him to my lips and whispered to him it was ok. He calmed down.
We are in God's hands, just like the bird. Isn't that awesome?
