"Forgiveness is the single most difficult act of love."
This was on our worksheet for the Sunday School video yesterday. (Rick Warren)When we are personally offended or hurt and we forgive, we know ourselves. We know the intention of our heart in that situation. We can tough it up and say we did forgive and we are sincere. However, what happens when someone has hurt someone we love; like our daughter or our son? How difficult is it to forgive the offender in that situation? What if that daughter or son will never have the same quality of life because of the offense? What if we watch them suffer?
God is the keeper of the dwelling of light. Jesus is the Light. The light that came to me in this is that "forgiveness is the single most difficult act of love." How gracious God is to us. We have no idea how profound His love is toward us. What Jesus did for us! Was it God's single most difficult act of love? When we hurt His Son, He still forgives.
